The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

LE-VISAGE is a club that exists to celebrate the face in all its forms, whether it be beautiful, ugly, transcendant, resplendant, pained, joyful, melancholic, young or old.

Accepted mediums include: traditional art, digital art, sculptural, artisan, photographic and literary.

S U B M I S S I O N G U I D E L I N E S

Only members can submit artwork to the galleries, or suggest artwork or faves to the club and take part in any contests or features.

We accept all forms of art that represent the human face, and face only (but not emotes, icons and avatars at this time).

Nothing that could be construed as pornographic or mutilation. Anything that we consider falls within these parameters will simply not be included. However, we will include Horror and Macabre, (but each piece will be included on it's own merit and must fall within acceptable parameters).

Work must be of recent creation, and of good quality. We only accept finished work, not scraps or works in progress. Please do not submit work that is on lined or scrap paper. It must be cleanly scanned or photographed if traditional art.

No desktop screenshots. Work must be your own. If using stock, brushes and textures, please ensure that full credit is given.

Please ensure that your work is correctly categorized. The club reserves the right to re-categorize work if we feel it has been categorized inappropriately.
